This command is an optional command to allow for configuration of the Wireless capture technology capture options. If not included, the last option selections will be applied.
This command parameter is not allowed for Datasource Key “X240”.
The command format is:
“capturetechnology=bredr-<value>|le-<value>|2m-<value>|wifi-<value>”
The acceptable values are:
-
“on” – Selection checked
-
“off” – Selection not checked
The command must be sent with all parameters. The parameters are:
-
bredr – Control selection of “BR/EDR” where those packets will be discarded if unchecked.
-
le – Control selection of “LE” where all low energy packets will be discarded if unchecked.
-
2m – Control selection of “2M LE” where 2 Mbps low energy packets will be discarded if unchecked.
The spectrum parameter is optional and applies to Sodera, X500e and X700:
-
spectrum – Control selection of “Spectrum 2.4 GHz” where spectrum packets will be discarded if unchecked. If omitted, the current “Spectrum 2.4 GHz” setting is maintained and unaffected.
The spectrum5_6 parameter is optional and applies only to X700:
-
spectrum5_6 – Control selection of “Spectrum 5/6 GHz” where spectrum packets will be discarded if unchecked. If omitted, the current “Spectrum 5/6 GHz” setting is maintained and unaffected.
The wifi and wpan parameters are optional and are only applicable to X500, X500e and X700:
-
wifi – Control selection of “Wi-Fi (802.11)” where those packets will be discarded if unchecked. If omitted, the current “Wi-Fi (802.11)” setting is maintained and unaffected.
-
wpan – Control selection of “WPAN 802.15.4” where those packets will be discarded if unchecked. If omitted, the current “WPAN 802.15.4” setting is maintained and unaffected.
The bands parameters are optional and are only applicable to X700:
-
bredr_bands=<value>
-
le_bands=<value>
where <value> is a hex 32 bit value that is a mask for the various bands as follows:
|
Band Mask |
Band Description |
|
0x00000001 |
2.4GHz |
|
0x00000002 |
5GHz U-NII-1 |
|
0x00000004 |
5GHz U-NII-3 |
|
0x00000008 |
5GHz U-NII-4 |
|
0x00000010 |
5GHz U-NII-5a |
|
0x00000020 |
5GHz U-NII-5b |
|
0x00000040 |
5GHz U-NII-5c |
|
0x00000080 |
5GHz U-NII-5d |
Usage of 5 GHz requires a separate license for 5 GHz Higher Bands.
Examples:
“capturetechnology=bredr-off|le-on|2m-on” “capturetechnology=bredr-on|le-off|2m-off|spectrum-on” “capturetechnology=bredr-off|le-off|2m-off|wifi-on”
“capturetechnology=bredr-on|le-off|2m-off|wifi-off|wpan-on|spectrum-off”
“capturetechnology=bredr-off|le-on|2m-on|le_bands=0x000000ff”
The validity of a capture technology selection will depend on the capture hardware capability and license.
