The Export command is sent to the analyzer to exercise the Export PCAPNG menu option for existing frames. This command does not require capture hardware to be connected. The command format is:
“PCAPNG Export;file=<path>;tech=<tech[, tech]>;[mode=<mode>;][logging=<level>;]”
For “path”:
-
If the export path represents just a file name, the capture file directory will be prepended.
-
The file extension must be “.pcapng” for the Export command.
Valid values for “tech” are:
-
“Classic" – Classic baseband
-
"LE" – Low Energy baseband
-
“80211” – 802.11 baseband
-
"WPAN" – 802.15.4 baseband
If tech is not specified, then the default value will be all tech values (i.e. Classic, LE, 80211, & WPAN)
Valid values for “mode” are:
-
0 – Wait for frame compilation and filtering to complete (default)
-
1 – Do not wait for frame compilation to complete
If mode is not specified, then the default value will be 0.
It is important to understand that if the “mode” parameter is not specified, or has a value”0”, and the analyzer is analyzing frames, then the Export command may wait indefinitely.
Valid values for “logging” are:
-
“minimal” – basic information about conversion progress, and conversion result
-
“normal” – extended information about conversion progress, and summary of the results.
-
“detailed” – information about conversion parameters, conversion progress, conversion summary, and conversion status for each packet. Also, an internal diagnostic information will be logged.
If logging is not specified, then no .log file is generated.
