Installing the Analyzer Software on the Host Machine

You must install the software before connecting the analyzer to the host machine for the first time.

Download the USB Protocol Suite Software

Download the latest version of the USB Protocol Suite software from this website: https://teledynelecroy.com/sw/usb/

You’ll need to register as a user the first time you access the site.

Windows Server 2016/2019

If you are using Windows Server 2016/2019, the Teledyne LeCroy USB Protocol Suite Software needs to be added to the firewall exceptions to ensure that the application can find the analyzers over your Ethernet network.

To add the USB Protocol Suite Software application to the firewall exceptions perform the following steps.

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.

  2. Select System and Security.

  3. Under Windows Defender Firewall, select Allow an app through Windows Firewall. A window listing allowed applications and features opens.

  4. Click Allow another app. The Add an app window opens.

  5. Enter the path for the USB Protocol Suite or click Browse to locate the application file.
    The default installation location for the Teledyne LeCroy USB Protocol Suite is C:\Program Files\LeCroy\USB Protocol Suite.

  6. Select the USB Protocol Suite executable (.exe extension) and click Open. The application is added to Allowed apps and features.

Allow USB Protocol Suite Through Local Firewall

To add the USB Protocol Suite Software application to the firewall exceptions, perform the following steps for a Windows 10 installation.

  1. Open the Control Panel.

  2. From the Control Panel, open Systems and Security.

  3. Under Windows Firewall, select Allow an app through Windows Firewall. The Allowed apps screen appears.

  4. Click Change settings > Allow another app.

  5. If the User Account Control pop-up appears, click Yes.

NOTE: This prompt might not appear if you have already allowed Windows to make changes to your computer.

  1. From the Add an app window, click Browse, and navigate to the location of the USB Protocol Suite you want to install.

NOTE: The default installation location for the Teledyne LeCroy USB Protocol Suite is
C:\Program Files\LeCroy\USB Protocol Suite.

  1. Select the USB Protocol Suite executable file (Type=Application (.exe extension)) and click Open. The Add an app window reappears with the selected application.

  2. If necessary, select USB Protocol Suite\UsbSuite.exe, then click Add. The Teledyne LeCroy USB Protocol Suite is added to the Apps allowed through the firewall.

  3. After the Application has been added, you can see it in the Allow apps to communicate through Windows Firewall screen. An updated list of Allowed apps and features appears.

  4. Verify that the Teledyne LeCroy USB Protocol Suite was added, then click OK.
