Troubleshooting

Electronic Load and Power Supply Connectivity

The Voyager M310e connects to external power and load boxes using RS-232 connections over DB9 cables (male to female). If you receive an error message indicating that a connection could not be established, ensure that:

  • A DB9 cable is securely affixed between the appropriate port (PD Load or EPR Power) on the rear panel of the Voyager M310e and the “RS232” port on the B&K Precision 8600, 8601 or 9200.

  • The external power or load box is configured properly with the following parameters. This is done through the System -> Communication menu on B&K Precision products:

    • Connection: RS-232

    • Baud Rate: 115,000 bps

    • Data Bits: 8

    • Stop Bits: 1

    • Parity: None

    • Flow Control: None

Multiple tests fail sequentially

In some cases, a single failed test can cause subsequent tests to fail. This has been observed in cases where devices fail to recover from specific error injection tests.

When this occurs, try running tests in small batches. In this manner you may be able to determine whether some tests only fail when run after a different test.

Manually verify test execution

In some cases, tests are reported as a failure even though the desired traffic condition was not transmitted as intended. Double-click a failed test case to view the trace file, then confirm that the Exerciser behavior matched the steps from the test specification. If you believe the traffic doesn’t reflect the defined sequence, contact Teledyne LeCroy support with a description of the discrepancy.
