PD 3.1 “Fast Role Swap” Compliance Tests

This document provides an overview of the PD 3.1 Fast Role Swap (FRS) test implementation for the Voyager M310e system. PD 3.1 FRS is designed to lower the risk of data loss for USB peripherals in the event of unexpected removal of a hub or dock power cable. It’s intended to keep the devices in a USB ecosystem powered when the hub they’re attached to loses power.

USB Type-C Functional Tests for Cables (CPUT)

Teledyne LeCroy’s USB Type-C Functional Verification option now includes new Type-C cable tests (beta), which will be used to verify proper USB-C link state behaviors. Since 2021, all e-marked Type-C cables may be subject to these new tests.

Voyager M310e PD 3.1 Source & Sink Compliance Tests

The Power Delivery Compliance program defines several power sink and power source tests that verify PD devices consume and source power at levels consistent with the PD specification. The power sink tests verify the DUT does not consume more current than advertised. The power source tests verify the DUT can source power at the required voltages. These specific tests require use of an external programmable load or power supply.
